The Medgrove Meditation Teacher Training Program is a comprehensive, 200-hour program designed for experienced meditation practitioners who are ready to deepen their practice and begin teaching meditation in their community.

 

Spanning six months, the program includes structured coursework, weekly live cohort sessions, mentorship with experienced instructors, and concludes with a 5-day in-person practicum at a dedicated retreat center.

Prerequisites

This is an advanced-level program. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

 

  • A minimum of two years of consistent, daily meditation practice.

  • Completion of an introductory meditation course.

  • Participation in at least one five-day or longer residential meditation retreat.

Program Highlights

The Medgrove Teacher Training is grounded in a secular and evidence-based approach to meditation. This program is designed to support both personal practice development and professional readiness for individuals seeking to teach meditation in a variety of modern settings.

The teacher training program will prepare students in the following categories:

Meditation History & Modern Science

  • Deepen your knowledge of diverse meditation styles and traditions.

  • Study the historical and cultural foundations of meditation practices.

  • Explore contemporary research on the science of meditation and its impact on the brain.

  • Examine the evolution of mindfulness in the West, including the secularization of contemplative practice.

 

Ongoing Practice and Community Engagement

  • Participate in weekly group meditation sessions with your training cohort.

  • Receive individualized support from instructors and peers.

  • Engage in a supportive learning environment that encourages accountability and growth.

 

Professional Applications

  • Learn how to apply meditation and mindfulness methodologies in therapeutic, clinical, educational, and corporate contexts.

  • Gain insight into inclusive teaching practices and working with diverse populations.

  • Explore core ethical considerations for teaching meditation responsibly and professionally.

 

Career Development

  • Understand how to build a sustainable career as a meditation teacher.

  • Receive guidance on business planning, branding, marketing, and financial structure.

  • Learn how to grow a professional network and build community as part of your teaching journey.

The program culminates in a 5-day residential retreat, offering students the opportunity to:

  • Practice teaching meditation in a live setting with peer and instructor feedback.

  • Participate in immersive group sessions designed to strengthen personal practice and teaching presence.

  • Meet one-on-one with the lead educator to receive personalized guidance and support.

 

The practicum will take place at a carefully selected mountain or desert retreat center, providing a focused environment for practice, integration, and connection.
